A Disney character older than Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Rabbit will make his debut at the Disneyland Resort.Pete, the cat-like cartoon character created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in 1925, will be available for photo-op appearances when Mickey’s Toontown reopens at Disneyland Park on March 19. 39-Year-Old Man Struck by Multiple Vehicles near Sonoma BoulevardVALLEJO, CA (March 17, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, a pedestrian collision on Highway 80 claimed the life of Rafael Devera.The incident happened on March 9th, at around 4:00 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the highway near Sonoma Boulevard.According to reports, Devera attempted to cross Highway 80, in the area near Carquinez Bridge toll Plaza, when he was struck by multiple vehicles. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A student at Francisco Middle School in San Francisco was stabbed on Friday and a juvenile was detained, according to the San Francisco Police Department. SFPD dispatched officers from Central Station to the school at approximately 12:45 p.m. on a report of a stabbing, police said.Officers arrived at the school, which is located on the 2100 block of Powell Street, and met with the victim, described as a juvenile, and school staff. (KRON) -- Clifford Elementary School in Redwood City was briefly on lockdown Friday, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. However, a short time later, the Redwood City School District informed KRON4 that the "secure campus" status at Clifford School had been lifted."Dismissal at the school will continue as scheduled," a district spokesperson said.Sheriff's deputies are on the scene and all students are reportedly safe. (KRON) -- Former Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes promised a federal judge on Friday that she will not attempt to flee the country before she begins serving her 11-year prison sentence next month. The disgraced Silicon Valley entrepreneur recently gave birth to her second child. (KRON) -- A suspect caught in the act of stealing a catalytic converter in unincorporated Redwood City robbed a person who was observing him of his cell phone at gunpoint. According to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, a catalytic converter theft took place shortly before 7:30 a.m. Thursday in Emerald Hills, a neighborhood in Redwood City. As the suspect completed the theft, police say they realized they were being recorded and pointed a silver/black semi-automatic handgun at the neighbor and took the fun.
