COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Hamburg man was taken into custody on Thursday following a pursuit through Colonie. Police say Cary M. Youngs, 28, traveled to Colonie in an attempt to meet with what he believed to be a 13-year-old for the purpose of sexual exploitation. ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- New York State is taking steps to protect evidence for victims of sexual offenses. A new state facility will now store rape kits for up to twenty years, giving victims time to decide how they want to move forward. "It's a recognition that no one responds to trauma in the same way and we want to extend that long enough so that people can do it anytime that works for them," said Elizabeth Cronin, Director of the NYS Office of Victim Services. Legislation to track rape kits passes both houses The facility will hold untested kits which have not yet been turned over to law enforcement. The issue previously was that each hospital had its own time frame as to how long they could store kits. Cronin said it took about 18 months to create the facility, which is located in the capital region. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Friday, Bradley Boisen, 26, of Waterford, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempted sex trafficking of a child. As part of his guilty plea, Boisen admitted that on April 21, 2021, he met someone over the internet and agreed to pay them $100 to engage in sexual acts with a 14-year-old child. That same day, Boisen traveled to a predetermined location in Albany, where he was to meet and engage in sexual acts with the minor. After arriving at the meeting spot, Boisen informed an undercover law enforcement officer that he didn't possess the agreed-upon fee and attempted to negotiate as to what sex acts he could afford for $60. GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - The city of Glens Falls says that more items are being stolen out of cars over the last several weeks. The Glens Falls Police Department said it's received a high number of reports of goods stolen from unlocked vehicles - a pattern that isn't uncommon.“We see this every Spring,” said Glens Falls Police Chief Jarred Smith. “The subjects who are responsible will attempt to see if a vehicle is locked or not. If the vehicle is locked, they typically move on. MASCOUTAH, Ill. - A music instructor in the Metro East is behind bars and accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. Prosecutors have charged Reid Setterlund, 46, with two aggravated criminal sexual assault (with a victim under 18) and indecent solicitation stemming from aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The Mascoutah Police Department investigated several complaints of sexual misconduct tied to Setterlund. Police say he is accused of crimes involving two girls under the age of 18 last February. A plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, his son, several medical practices and a billing company have agreed to pay $23.9 million to resolve allegations that they submitted false claims to both Medicare and Medicaid. 21-Year-Old Mill Valley Man Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Anderson DriveSAN RAFAEL, CA (April 28, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, Aryan Rajesh Solanki was killed in a motorcycle accident on Bellam Boulevard.The deadly collision happened around 12:33 p.m., on Bellam Boulevard, near Anderson Drive.Per reports, the rider of a southbound 2014 Yamaha motorcycle collided with a northbound 2014 Mercedes SUV.In addition, investigators claimed that the Mercedes was attempting to turn into a parking lot and crossed into the motorcycle’s path.
