Democrats are raising concerns and venting their frustration over Rep. Dean Phillips’s (D-Minn.) long-shot bid against President Biden. Many members of the party believe Phillips, a three-term House Democrat, has little chance of ousting Biden in the primary, let alone enough name recognition to register on voters’ minds. But some Democrats also worry Phillips’s bid is injecting further uncertainty into a race that already includes two other Democratic primary challengers and several independent candidates, which could splinter off votes for Biden.“I have to say at this moment in time, the White House should be terrified because the president, while he is doing a good job in terms of policy, is looking at plummeting numbers, hemorrhaging support and Democrats who, like me, are sort of scared to go on the record and say what they think but are increasingly terrified,” said one Democratic consultant who requested anonymity to speak candidly.“So if you have a young, ene...St. Louis county police investigate fatal Shooting in north St. Louis

LOUIS – Missouri, is home to a set of unusual legal and illegal statutes, some of which are bound to raise eyebrows.Legal:Open Containers: Missouri stands out by not having an open container law, allowing non-driving passengers aged 21 and older to possess an open container while in the car. However, it's essential to note that this isn't universally accepted, as some cities and towns have their own ordinances that prohibit open containers in vehicles.Mormon killings: Shockingly, until June 1976, it was legally permissible to kill Mormons in Missouri under Missouri Executive Order 44. This dark chapter in history arose from a conflict between the Missouri state militia and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which led Missouri Governor Lilburn Boggs to issue Executive Order 44 on October 27, 1838. This order demanded that all Mormons vacate the state within ten days or face death.Home Brewing: Individuals of legal drinking age can produce up to 100 gallons of beer i...Learn more about FOX 2 sports reporter Daniel Esteve

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The convention-defying acts of Nikola Jokic have grown so routine, so nonchalant, that even both local broadcasts of a game can overlook them. The Nuggets center lofted arguably one of the greatest assists of his career Friday night in Memphis, but nobody saw it until later.“That was the whole point,” Jamal Murray told The Denver Post, laughing.Nobody, including Murray, who was on the Denver bench a few feet from where Jokic inbounded the ball. Nobody, including the Grizzlies, who were arguing an illegal screen foul call at their offensive end. Nobody, including the viewers at home, who were seeing a replay of the foul on Altitude TV or Bally Sports or NBA League Pass. The foul resulted in a side-out for the Nuggets in their backcourt, next to their own bench. Jokic gestured for the official to give him the ball quickly, then didn’t hesitate before chucking it one-handed and almost recklessly toward the opposite end of the court, where Aaron Gordon w...Denver weather: 6 to 12 inches of snow possible across metro area as winter storm hits

The Arroyo Seco Freeway has only been closed to traffic once since it was opened in 1940, and that was in 2003. History is set to be made again on Sunday when the freeway closes to vehicular traffic for the first ArroyoFest in 20 years. The event is free and family-oriented and allows participants to experience seven miles of car-free roadways – including part of the historic 110 Freeway – up close. The different spans of the roadway will be broken up by how participants choose to get around; pedestrians are asked to use the southbound, west facing lanes, and those using wheeled devices are asked to use the northbound, east facing lanes to maximize safety. “Another way to think about it [is] the west side of the parkway will be transformed into a giant sidewalk with two-way foot traffic, and the east side of the parkway will become a two-way protected bike and rollway,” the event’s website said. (CNN) — Israeli ground forces are inside Gaza after entering the enclave overnight, as Palestinians experienced what they have described as the most intense round of airstrikes since Israel began its retaliation against Hamas’ October 7 terror attack.Israeli forces “went into the Gaza Strip and expanded the ground operation where infantry, armor and engineer units and artillery with heavy fire are taking part,” Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said Saturday morning during a press briefing in Tel Aviv.“The forces are in the field and continue the fighting,” he added, without giving further details.Hagari’s words confirm the military operation has undergone a significant expansion after what it had earlier described as two “targeted raids,” which took place on Wednesday night and Thursday night. Both those raids saw ground forces withdraw after a few hours. However, it does not appear as though any major ground offensive aimed at seizing and holding signif...Latest news
