SEDALIA, Mo. – A teen from Jonesburg was named the 2023 Missouri State Fair Queen. On August 10, Kelsey Miller was crowned queen. She had the best score out of the 35 people who competed for the title at the Mathewson Exhibition Center over the course of two days.Kelsey MillerShe will be seen during the rest of the State Fair events and will be a representative for the State Fair and agriculture in Missouri for the next year.The participants were scored in many ways, such as their interview, speech, talent, and evening gown. Plaques were given to the contestants who did the best in each of the four categories.Miss 2023 Miss La Plata FFA Representative Audrey Belfield was named the first runner-up and will get a $1,000 scholarship.The second runner-up went to Miss Concordia FFA, Alice Reid, who will receive a $500 scholarship. ST. LOUIS – A woman has been identified in a fatal north St. Louis shooting.Police responded to a fatal shooting in north St. Louis at the 4700 block of Riverview on August 3 at 6:20 p.m. Officers found Ametta Powell, 30, suffering from a gunshot wound. She later died at an area hospital. The Homicide Division is continuing to investigate. Traffic Collision Near Leisure Town Road Roundabout Left Two People HospitalizedFAIRFIELD, CA (August 11, 2023) – On Wednesday, two people were extricated from the wreckage following a two-vehicle crash on Vanden Road.Emergency personnel responded to the incident on Vanden Rd., just south of the Leisure Town Road roundabout.According to the police, a vehicle crossed the solid double-yellow line for unknown reasons and collided head-on with another car. One Hospitalized after Multi-Car Accident near Avenue 12MADERA COUNTY, CA (August 11, 2023) – Thursday morning, one victim was airlifted after a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 99.The incident occurred around 8:00 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Avenue 12.Officers were investigating a northbound crash as southbound traffic began to slow down. Per reports, a semi-truck in the fast lane failed to brake on time and struck a trailer that was being hauled by a pickup-truck.The initial crash caused a chain-reaction collision, pinning a box truck driver in the wreckage. Paramedics transported one driver to a local hospital via SkyLife Air Ambulance for treatment of major injuries.In addition, Madera County police are still searching for the pickup-driver and their vehicle.Around 10:30 a.m., a flatbed tow-truck arrived and cleared out the scene. A road rage dispute that began on a freeway near Pleasanton ended in bloodshed when a man was found shot about 25 miles away in Tracy, authorities said.The deadly encounter began the afternoon of Aug. 4 on Interstate 580 near Pleasanton and continued east onto Interstate 205, according to the Tracy Police Department.
