The Bruins caught up to history on Saturday night at the Garden and, on Sunday in Philadelphia, they have a chance to make some of their own.The B’s notched their 62nd win with a 2-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils, tying the 1995-96 Red Wings and 2018-19 Lightning for most wins in the regular season in NHL history. It was a thoroughly entertaining possible preview of an Eastern Conference Final. Late in the game, B’s fans even mustered a “We Want The Cup” chant. While both teams were safely ensconced in the playoffs, there was a whiff of playoff hockey in the air. The Devils had a chance to leapfrog the Carolina Hurricanes for first place in the Metropolitan Division and thus avoid a tough first-round matchup with with cross-Hudson rival Rangers. The B’s, meanwhile were trying to tie the records for wins in a season. And the B’s came out flying, taking a 2-1 lead in a first period in which they had a 22-10 shot advantage.Boston Bruins center Pavel Zacha (18)...Orioles bats go cold, Cole Irvin not sharp in 4-1 loss to Yankees

The Orioles’ first two batters Saturday night against the New York Yankees recorded base hits. They had just two more the rest of the game. One day after their home-opening win, the Orioles struggled at the plate after the first inning, recording just four hits in a 4-1 loss. The first inning was a missed opportunity to put up a crooked number on the heels of their 7-6 win over their American League East rival Friday. Center fielder Cedric Mullins and catcher Adley Rutschman both singled to lead off the game against young Yankees starter Jhony Brito, who was making the second start of his major league career.Brito then got behind designated hitter Anthony Santander 3-0 in the count with runners on the corners. But the Orioles couldn’t capitalize, as Santander hit a sacrifice fly to right field, first baseman Ryan Mountcastle grounded into a fielder’s choice and shortstop Gunnar Henderson grounded out to third. The Orioles’ only hits in the final eight innings we...Jhony Brito impresses as Yankees even series with Orioles in 4-1 win

BALTIMORE — It didn’t take long for Aaron Boone to notice Jhony Brito once spring training began.Even though Brito was not high on the Yankees’ top prospects list, one of the right-hander’s early Tampa bullpens grabbed the manager’s attention. As Boone watched Brito throw from behind the mound, he alerted the organization’s pitching coaches standing nearby.“He can help us,” Boone declared.Fast forward to the early days of the regular season, and Brito is doing exactly that. Injuries thrust the 25-year-old into the Yankees’ rotation prematurely, but Brito has pitched beyond his years since ending his camp with 5.1 perfect innings. The day served as both an audition and, looking back, a preview of Brito’s first two major league starts. After twirling five scoreless innings against the Giants in his major league debut on April 2, Brito foiled the Orioles at chilly Camden Yards on Saturday night, paving the way for a 4-1 Yankees...Revolution tharsh CF Montreal 4-0 for third home win

BENGALURU, India (AP) — Just hours away from several of India’s major tiger reserves in the southern city of Mysuru, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to announce Sunday how much the country’s tiger population has recovered since its flagship conservation program began 50 years ago. Protesters, meanwhile, will tell their own stories of how they have been displaced by such wildlife conservation projects over the last half-century.Project Tiger began in 1973 after a census of the big cats found India’s tigers were fast going extinct through habitat loss, unregulated sport hunting, increased poaching and retaliatory killing by people. Laws attempted to address those issues, but the conservation model centered around creating protected reserves where ecosystems can function undisturbed by people.Several Indigenous groups say the conservation strategies, deeply influenced by American environmentalism, meant uprooting numerous communities that had lived in the forests for mi...Bouanga's hat trick sinks Austin FC in Los Angeles
