The Founding Fathers signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776, by John Trumbull in 1819.Photo Illustration: The Intercept / Getty ImagesAmericans love to talk about our Founding Fathers, with many of us believing they were infallible geniuses.
