LEWISTON, Maine (NewsNation) — Robert Card, the man accused of killing 18 people and injuring 13 more in two Maine shootings, is dead, federal law enforcement sources tell NewsNation.A law enforcement official told The Associated Press that Card is believed to have died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police are expected to provide an update on the investigation at a 10 p.m. news conference.Card has been sought since Wednesday, when investigators say the suspect allegedly entered two separate Lewiston businesses — Schemengees Bar and Just-in-Time Recreation — and opened fire, killing and injuring multiple people. UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. -- Quick-moving thunderstorms rolled through the area this evening as a cold front begins the process of flipping our weather pattern from warm and humid to cold and almost wintry. The thunderstorms were well-timed for this evening’s Trunk-or-Treat in University City, the city’s first since the start of the COVID pandemic. An earthquake centered in the upper Peninsula, close to the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), shook Bay Area residents on Friday night.The quake clocked in at a magnitude of 3.9 and was centered near about 1.2 miles north of Millbrae, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. (KRON) -- A preliminary 3.7 earthquake was reported near Millbrae Friday evening, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The epicenter of the quake was near San Francisco International Airport (SFO) -- approximately one mile northeast of Millbrae. USGS reports the earthquake happened at 6:38 p.m. As of 7:40 p.m., the earthquake was downgraded to a 3.7 magnitude after being initially reported as a 4.0 earthquake.SFO completed its runway inspections, airport officials told KRON4. There were no damages reported. The depth of the earthquake was 8.2 miles. The earthquake was felt in San Francisco and Oakland. BART service was put to a halt for about 20 minutes. OAKLEY, Calif. (KRON) -- On Friday, the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office said no charges have been filed against the prime suspect, Jason Walizada, behind an October 21 house party shooting in Oakley. Four teenagers, all between ages 15 and 17, were shot in the melee.Walizada "will be released from custody later today pending further developments in our investigation," Oakley police said Friday in a press release. One of the victims, 16-year-old Ke'Marion Tucker of Brentwood, died. The house party on Shannon Way was attended by several students of Liberty High School in Brentwood, where Tucker was also a student.Tucker was in his junior year of high school and the oldest of six siblings. (KRON) -- On Saturday afternoon, animal rights advocates with Direct Action Everywhere and Stop Bloodsports will gather outside the Golden Gate Fields for a demonstration calling out the horseracing industry and memorializing horses who died at the track this fall.The protest is planned in response to an "unprecedented surge of deaths at the track" since Golden Gate Fields' owners announced their intention to stay open for an additional season before shutting down indefinitely. MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia forward Akok Akok was hospitalized Friday night after collapsing on the court during a charity exhibition game.Akok suffered a medical emergency early in the second half of the game with George Mason, West Virginia’s athletic department said in a statement.Medical personnel attended to Akok for several minutes before he was removed from the court on a stretcher. He was taken to a hospital for further observation, said the statement, which provided no additional information.The game eventually resumed.Akok transferred to West Virginia after playing last season at Georgetown.
