CHARLESTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Department of Environmental Conservation has announced the results of a waste disposal case in Montgomery County. According to the DEC, Environmental Conservation Officer Willson launched an investigation into the illegal dumping of garbage onto private property in November 2022. Garbage, including plastic storage containers, old tarps, and a refrigerator, were all dumped at the site.ECOs found information in the garbage that traced back to a Schoharie County resident living in Esperance. ST. LOUIS - A St. Louis man was sentenced Thursday after taking an Alford plea in the case of a teenager's shooting death from 2019. Joseph Renick, 58, was sentenced to 10 years of prison in the Aug. 25, 2019, shooting deathof Sentonio Cox in the city’s Patch neighborhood. Renick entered an Alford plea for a reduced charge of first-degree involuntary manslaughter. The Alford plea means Alford plea he does not admit guilt, but acknowledges prosecutors have sufficient evidence to get a conviction. The median age of Americans reached a record high of 38.9 years between 2021 and 2022, according to new data released by the U.S. Census Bureau on Thursday.During that timeframe, the median age in the nation has increased by 0.2 years.The rapid rise is noteworthy since the median age in 2000 was 35 and in 1980 it was 30.
