Trump Lawyer Cleta Mitchell Escaped Georgia Indictment — and Still Leads Election Denial Movement When a Georgia court unsealed the grand jury report on the efforts to overturn the 2020 election, the first name on its recommended indictments was predictable: President Donald Trump. It’s the second name on the list that jumped out: Cleta Mitchell. The grand jury recommended charging Mitchell for soliciting election fraud, witness interference, making false statements, and a host of other offenses. As a Trump adviser and election attorney, Mitchell played a central role in the effort to stop the certification of the election in Georgia and beyond. She was one of the principal players on the infamous call in which Trump implored Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to find the 11,780 votes he needed to claim victory. And Mitchell brought lawyer John Eastman in to support the fringe legal theory that state legislatures could override the will of their voters. “A movement is stirring,” she wrote to Eastman. “But needs constitutional support.&...

Coach feels TCU has mirrored last season’s playoff team. Except these Frogs already have a loss FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — TCU is in the same position it was at this point last season before making it to the national championship game. The Horned Frogs are going into their Big 12 opener unranked, still trying to find their way and with nobody talking about them being a playoff contender. What is different this time is TCU (1-1) can’t have another undefeated regular season like the one that carried the Frogs all the way into the four-team College Football Playoff last year in their debut with coach Sonny Dykes, even after losing the Big 12 championship game. “Honestly, our performance thus far this season has probably mirrored our performance a little bit last season,” Dykes said. “We had a better Colorado team we played Week 1. If we had played a really good Colorado team last year, I don’t know how we would have fared in that game.”Dykes has repeatedly said TCU was “probably a slightly below average football team” the first three or four games last season. But that squad just k...

Federal judge again declares DACA immigration program unlawful

Federal judge again declares DACA immigration program unlawful (The Hill) — A federal judge for the second time found the DACA program unlawful but held back from ordering the deportation of the nearly 600,000 who remain in the country as “dreamers.”The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, first crafted with a 2012 memo under the Obama administration, was likewise found unlawful by federal district court Judge Andrew Hanen in a similar ruling in 2021. Mexican Congress shown ‘non-human’ corpses in UFO hearing “While sympathetic to the predicament of DACA recipients and their families, this Court has expressed its concerns about the legality of the program for some time,” Hanen wrote in the  40-page ruling. “This solution for these deficiencies lies with the legislature, not the executive of judicial branches. Congress, for any member of reasons, has decided not to pass DACA-like legislation.”This story is developing.
