A police investigation was underway at a large crime scene in Lynn shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night. Roughly 12 police cruisers were on scene at the Lynn Marketplace off State Street. While officials did not immediately share any additional information, debris was visible on the ground outside a Pizza Hut location within the plaza. The store’s windows were also shattered. JACUMBA, Calif. -- One person died and another person was hurt in a crash Tuesday after a vehicle lost control and plunged over a 300-foot cliff in the Jacumba area, authorities said.The collision occurred around 4:43 p.m. near McCain Valley Rd. and I-8 Highway West, Cal Fire San Diego confirmed to FOX 5. According to the California Highway Patrol log, the vehicle cut across multiple lanes before going over the cliff. ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Keep Round Rock Safe, a group pushing for more billboards in the City of Round Rock, said it turned in 4,203 signatures to the city Tuesday, surpassing the required amount of signatures needed. The petition is to get their item on the ballot in May. Currently, the law in Round Rock says billboards are prohibited within city limits, and there is only one billboard in southern Round Rock because it was grandfathered in before the city council prohibited its existence in the city.If voters approve the charter amendment, it will allow up to 12 new privately owned and operated double-faced digital billboards along Interstate 35 and State Highway 45. On Tuesday night, the council needed only 11 minutes to make some final adjustments before the end of the year. The first was approving the new annual income amount for tax exemptions, which sets a discount on property taxes depending on one’s income. JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. – A Jefferson County deputy was injured Tuesday evening after an altercation with a man.The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. in the 1400 block of Harness Road, approximately eight miles south of Festus.The deputy, who has not been identified, was sent to Harness Road to investigate a possible stolen vehicle out of Crystal City. While checking out the vehicle, the deputy encountered a person.The sheriff’s department claims an altercation happened over the deputy’s weapon. A single shot was fired during the altercation, but it’s unclear who fired the shot.The bullet missed both the deputy and the suspect. They’re both being treated for minor injuries.Latest news
