Hawaii’s Pacific pathways and winding trails offer plenty of free adventure It was a warm, sunny afternoon on Kauai’s Coconut Coast when my daughter and I set out on a leisurely bike ride on the Ke Ala Hele Makalae path from Kapa’a town to secluded Paliku Beach (aka Donkey Beach), eight miles to the north.Our hotel, the splendid, centrally-located Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort in Kapa’a, provided our bikes free of charge and even packed a backpack — a cooler bag — with a picnic and cold drinks to bring along on our shoreline ride. Man arrested for murder in San Jose shooting (KRON) -- The San Jose Police Department announced they have made an arrest for a shooting homicide that happened in April. On April 19 around 1:38 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting on the 1000 block of Blossom River Drive.Police said they found one man suffering gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. San Francisco bike shop closes after multiple break-ins Homicide detectives identified 18-year-old San Mateo resident Matthew Antracoli as the primary suspect. Police arrested Antracoli on May 9 in Morgan Hill, Calif. Dramatic video posted by the San Ramon Valley Fire Department shows CHP H-32 deploying above the mountain and lowering a paramedic down into rocky terrain where the hiker had fallen. San Francisco bike shop closes after multiple break-ins The CHP responded to the incident along with San Ramon Valley Fire, California State Parks personnel and a REACH air ambulance, SRV FD said. The helicopter crew was able to locate the injured hiker in a difficult to access location. A San Ramon Valley FD paramedic was lowered down to the hiker and she was placed into a rescue harness. The helicopter hoisted the paramedic and the rescued hiker from the scene and then lowered them to the waiting REACH air ambulance.The hiker, who suffered major injuries, was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
