ST. LOUIS - We begin a welcome warming trend for the next few days. Temperatures Monday are still in the low 60s, but it'll be a much brighter day. We still have the possibility of some patchy frost Monday night into early Tuesday morning outside the metro. This should be limited to low-lying areas that dip into the mid-30s. Significant impacts from the frost potential are not expected. St. Louis radar: See a map of current weather here Temperatures will return to the low 70s by Wednesday, ahead of our next system. A cold front will bring a chance of a few showers Wednesday night through Thursday. This does not look to be a big rainmaker by any means. For now, there is a dry forecast for the weekend with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s.Take a road trip to the past at this Denver museum | Opinion

SACRAMENTO — California is the first state to ban doctors and medical examiners from attributing deaths to the controversial diagnosis known as “excited delirium,” which a human rights activist hailed as a “watershed moment” that could make it harder for police to justify excessive force.Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill Oct. 8 to prohibit coroners, medical examiners, physicians, or physician assistants from listing excited delirium on a person’s death certificate or in an autopsy report. Law enforcement won’t be allowed to use the term to describe a person’s behavior in any incident report, and testimony that refers to excited delirium won’t be allowed in civil court. The law takes effect in January. The term excited delirium has been around for decades but has been used increasingly over the past 15 years to explain how a person experiencing severe agitation can die suddenly through no fault of the police. It was cited as a legal defense in the 2020 deaths of George Floyd ...49ers report card: Ugly across the board with one ‘F’ in loss to Browns

CLEVELAND – Here is how the 49ers (5-1) graded in Sunday’s 19-17 loss at the Cleveland Browns (3-2):PASS OFFENSE: DBrock Purdy battled through a career-worst passing day before piecing together a potential game-winning drive in the final 100 seconds. He connected with Brandon Aiyuk on only four of 10 targets, but two completions came on that final drive to reach the Browns’ 35-yard line, followed by a 9-yard completion to Jauan Jennings. The Browns’ top-ranked pass defense flustered and pressured Purdy (three sacks, six hits). Trent Williams played the final three quarters with a right ankle injury that bears concern for the next few weeks. George Kittle barely kept alive his streak of a catch in every game of his career with a 1-yard reception on two targets.RUN OFFENSE: DChristian McCaffrey busted loose for a 27-yard run on his first carry, but he managed 16 yards on his next 10 carries combined and left in the third quarter with oblique/rib injuries. He also beat seventh-ranked Stefanos Tsitsipas at Indian Wells in March. “I fought off 0-40 first game and I really got into the match after that,” the 60th-ranked Thompson said. “But I held on, I was playing an unpredictable style of tennis, and I think he didn’t handle it that well in the first set and adapted in the second.
