NEAR ORLANDO, Fla. (WSVN) — A Central Florida teen is sharing his story alongside his family as he continues to recover from an encounter with a rowdy reptile that sent him to the hospital.Thirteen-year-old Gabriel Klimis said he was enjoying a swim in Winter Springs, located about 15 miles north of Orlando, until an alligator lunged at him, Tuesday afternoon.“We’ve been in this creek a bunch of times, so no one thought anything of it,” he said. “I was going to get up, and the gator just started, like, pulling me back under and just jumped up and grabbed me.”At this point, Gabriel said, he went into self-defense mode.“I just started, like, hitting it in the head and let go, and then I just ran up on the sand,” he said.Gabriel said the sudden attack freaked out his 10-year-old brother Judah.“My first thought was like, ‘You’re gonna die,’ ’cause I’d never seen a gator bite happen in person,” said...US evaluating what Wagner Group rebellion means for Ukraine war

The whiplash-inducing events in Russia on Saturday have U.S. officials scurrying to understand what the Wagner Group’s now-stalled advance on Moscow means for Ukraine’s chances in its war against Russia.Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Wagner Group mercenaries had taken the command center of Russia’s war in Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don while a column made its way northward toward the Kremlin. But Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko seemingly brokered an agreement that has the contractors heading back to unspecified “field camps” instead of seeking the overthrow of Russia’s military leadership.“The moment has come when blood may spill. That’s why, understanding the responsibility for spilling Russian blood on one of the sides, we are turning back our convoys and going back to field camps according to the plan,” Prigozhin said in a Saturday statement. In the hours before the dramatic turnaround, when it seemed the mercenaries were planning for urban combat in Moscow, U.S. officials engaged i...No Books No Ball program holds annual kickoff

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former President Donald Trump said the federal government should play a “vital role” opposing abortion but again failed to provide specifics on what national restrictions he would support if elected to the White House again.Trump’s remarks to a group of influential evangelicals Saturday on the anniversary of the Supreme Court overturning the national right to an abortion stood in contrast to that of his former vice president and 2024 rival Mike Pence.Pence, speaking at the same conference a day earlier, challenged every GOP presidential candidate to support the passage of a national ban on abortions at least as early as 15 weeks of pregnancy.Trump, the GOP front-runner, has been reluctant to endorse a national ban and has suggested restrictions should be left to the states. He has even suggested that pushing for increased abortion restrictions would be a political liability for Republicans, despite his three Supreme Court nom...Revolution extend home unbeaten streak with a 2-1 victory over Toronto FC
