WATCH: Peacock roams loose near Route 1 in Peabody, later returns home A peacock that flew the coop in Peabody caused some problems for state police Monday, at one point venturing into the lanes of Route 1. Surveillance video showed the exotic bird in the area late Monday morning. Fearing it could lead to a potentially dangerous situation, a trooper pulled over to try to corral it. The effort soon became a peacock pursuit, though, with police and some nearby volunteers chasing the bird to the corner of a parking lot.Kristina Kallas’ family owns Quick Stop Convenience, where Monday’s avian operation went down. (AP) — Police in a Virginia suburb of the nation’s capital are investigating a massive explosion at a house where officers were trying to serve a search warrant Monday.The Arlington County Police Department said in a statement that the suspect fired several shots inside the home and that an explosion happened. Firefighters were working to extinguish the fire.The police had earlier said that they were investigating after someone fired a flare gun from the house. Arlington is located across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. (WDVM) -- Police in Virginia are investigating an explosion at a house where a man allegedly discharged a flare gun inside the residence. The Arlington County Police Department said officers were trying to serve a search warrant at the home in Arlington, a suburb of Washington, D.C., on Monday. The suspect fired several shots inside the home and an explosion happened, according to authorities. A massive boom was heard in the area just after 8:20 p.m. Power was knocked out in the immediate area and flames could be seen shooting in the air from a nearby street. Stretchers were also seen near the house.Some officers had minor injuries but did not need to go to a hospital for treatment.
