First Warning: Wettest weather since October due late this week AUSTIN (KXAN) — While the focus early in the week will be the freeze concerns for most of Central Texas on Monday morning, we're looking ahead to the middle and end of the week for our wettest weather for more than six weeks.A slow moving storm system approaching from the west will gradually bring rain chances eastward through the end of the work week. While changes can be expected, this storm has been consistently trending wetter the last few days.It hasn't rained in Austin in more than 10 days and we haven't had more than an inch of rain fall in one day at Camp Mabry since October 26.As things stand now the rain will be slow to progress eastward with rain chances mostly confined to the Hill Country on Wednesday. Rain spreads a little more on Thursday and by Friday most of us should be in for a widespread soaking. Freeze Warning Monday morning AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A Freeze Warning is in effect nearly areawide for what could be Central Texas' first widespread freeze of the season.Freeze Warning for most of Central Texas Monday morning.Areas under the warning including Austin should protect pets, pipes, plants and people. It came in the form of Indiana transfer Trent Howland on Sunday.“New crib. Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson leaves game against Raiders, taken to local hospital out of precaution LAS VEGAS — Justin Jefferson’s highly anticipated return for the Vikings did not last long.The star receiver left the Vikings’ game on Sunday afternoon at Allegiant Stadium after absorbing a hard hit directly to the back. He was ruled out with a chest injury and taken to a local hospital out of precaution while the game between the Vikings and Raiders was still going. There were no immediate updates from the team other than that.The chest injury occurred after Jefferson hauled in a high pass from quarterback Josh Dobbs. Burglars steal $35,000 in candles from a St. Louis storage unit ST. LOUIS -- Several downtown storage units were burglarized over the weekend. At least one tenant is calling on the facility's owner to do more to protect their belongings.One of the tenants says burglars stole $35,000 worth of candles from his storage unit. They tore the door off to gain access and left a mess behind. St. Charles ATM heist unraveled in high-tech crime trail Tenant Jason Johnston says his candle business is now closed after burglars stole his entire stock. He says Life Storage on Vandeventer has turned the surveillance video over to the police.The two tenants say the front gate has been open for months allowing anyone to drive in.He is frustrated by the situation.We contacted the police and Life Storage but have not heard back from either yet.

The Jewish Federation of Saint Louis marched today in University City to demand the release of the hostages held in Gaza.The march began at the intersection of Kingsland Avenue, and Delmar Boulevard. Today's speakers were from Washington University. A rabbi offered prayers.This comes after the United States this past week rejected a UN resolution calling for a cease-fire.

Three FOX 2 employees honored during 1st Black Girls Who Rock awards ST. LOUIS -- Three members of our FOX 2 family are being honored as part of the Black Girls Who Rock awards. It's the first edition of the event.The ceremony acknowledged about 100 African American women for being trailblazers in their chosen profession. It was held at Lindenwood University on Sunday.Audio engineer and reporter Taylor Harris, supervising producer Kimberly Young, and engineering operations supervisor Lissa Marteen were among those being honored.Among other notable honorees was Jennifer Lewis, the actress from Kinloch, who recently appeared on such shows as Black-ish.

Gas prices plummet in Missouri ST. LOUIS -- The price for a gallon of gas is taking a major dip.  The national average for a gallon of gas has dropped considerably, to just $3.20. That's 15 cents less than it was a year ago.In Missouri, it's even lower than that, at just $2.75 per gallon. AAA says it's pretty typical for the price of gas to drop at this time of year, with people waiting longer in between trips that don't involve essential travel, like going to work.AAA also says that more than half of all gas stations in the country are charging less than $3 per gallon.

CHARLES, Mo. -- A man spent his life collecting merchandise from his favorite soda brands, and now it's all on display at the new St. Charles Soda Museum and Arcade. It is located on North Main Street in the heart of St. Charles, along the Missouri River. Owner Tom Smith says he's collected vintage soft drink advertising for the last 39 years.
